The Blessings of Marriage

Sometimes I feel like I take marriage for granted but in the last few months I have come to understand a new dimension of marriage. Brad and I will be coming on our five year anniversary and have discovered that whenever adversity strikes a marriage it can turn ugly or in our case it has helped us open our means of communication. It helps both of us to come together as a team and to resolve whatever the dilemma is at hand as a team and always look out for each other and for our children. I have come to understand that whenever I am struggling with something Brad is willing to be there by my side to help me overcome whatver hardships I may be facing and vice versa. I don't think I have come to know anyone better like I know Brad. I remeber when I was in college and I was dating and if something about someone irked I did not want to keep trying to get to know that person, I would just simply give up and move on. I was very selfish with my time. But when I met Brad, he taught me a very special thing, that he would never give up on me, that he was not too busy and was willing to share his time with me. And I know that I too did not want to give up on him. I am so glad I opted for marriage even though I had other options. I know now that in only five years of marriage I have matured so much, more than I have in all of my years. I am glad that when the time and the season came for me to marry I seized the moment and gained my eternal buddy and now my eternal family. And I want to stress "eternal".... not perfect.

Mormon Messages: The Blessings of the Temple

So a few years ago when I was coming back to the church I heard that a photographer somehow sneaked into a temple and he or she "threatened" the church that he would make those images public unless the church would buy the pictures from him, so in response to his threats the church published a temple calendar with images of celestial rooms and baptisimal faunts from multiple temples. Anyhow, these messages the church has produced has made me think about how the media can be utilized. Fortunately our church leaders prefer not to get involved in a bickering contest to help people understand what we do and believe in. Instead, they simple use the same tools the adversary uses to explain the purpose of a temple. I love the temple, and I am so glad the church is doing this not only for obvious reasons, but personally it helps me so much to have daily reminder of the temple and everytime I view these segments it brings me a moment of peace. My favorite part of this video is what Elder Nelson says" Everyone is welcomed who prepares well."

Beautifully!

What's for Dinner?

That's the infamous question we all have on a daily basis. I am not much of a chef, but I do enjoy cooking. Sometimes, I do amaze myself, but not often enough to make a career out of it. I think I would cook more often if my hubby was the type of man who would like to sit down and eat. However, Brad is more of a snacker type of guy. Hence, I got into the habit of snacking too. But when you have kids, you can't snack all day, plus, I love to sit down to eat with Little Bradley and now Samuel too. I love to hear him say the meal prayer and I love to hear him talk to me. We usually shut the t.v. off, and we eat together. It is our special moment. I love it. If there is one thing that irks me is to eat alone. So, now I won't be rushed to enjoy a meal, or in sections, because I forgot to cook the noodles, but the sauce is ready. Now I will be able to sit down and eat with my little guys and enjoy a great meal thanks to Shaleen's Freezer Meals. I am so glad I won her help to make freezers meals at the Service Auctions. We got 42 freezer meals down in 3 hours. I am so looking foward to more sit down meal, and maybe Brad will join us too.

Mormon Messages: Why Mormons Build Temples

I love this message. I am glad I can share this with people who don't understand the gospel and are easily mislead by the media who sole purpose is to increase their ratings.
